My Year: 2014

Now here goes my summary of what has happened over the past year.  I can safely say this year was probably the biggest rollercoaster known to man and there is no possible way I will be able to summarise it in detail in one blog post - but I'm going to give it a good go and split it into four quarters...!
To summarise though: a house move, a visit to New York, a boyfriend, sports tour, McBusted, my 20th, my best friends 18th, Glasto, multiple holidays, an ex boyfriend, second year, a momentous amount of drama, a visit to Milan, and now some peace.

Healthy Eating Part Two!

A couple of posts ago I wrote about how hard it is to try and eat healthily whilst being at university and showed just a couple of things I was doing to try and stay healthy.

Well, since then I have returned back home for the summer and being healthy has become A LOT easier (mainly because my mum food shops).  So I thought I would give another little post about some of the things I have been eating and doing to try and stay healthy for summer.
Now as a disclaimer I should say that I am in no way a health guru or some nutritionist - this is just simply what I've been doing.

Summer Favourites!

I've never really done a proper favourites post (maybe one a while ago) and so I thought what better time to do one then for summer!

This favourites is just going to be a general one, so anything I have been loving this summer whether that's books, nail polishes, clothes or beauty products.

Here we go...

Holiday Ready!

Okay so I originally intended to have this post as a 'What I'm packing for holiday' post. But as I was putting out my clothes I realised that there would be about a thousand pictures.

So this is now a My Holiday Essentials type post. Obviously I am taking way more things (I'm not just going to be walking round in a bikini 24/7 - I probably am) but here are my must haves when on holiday!

Festivals!

There is a major part of summer that everyone gets excited for - FESTIVALS!  Now I've been lucky enough to go to quite a few festivals in my 20 years of living including Reading and Latitude and this year is no different, I'm off to Glastonbury (ahhhhh) and Latitude again!

Last year we went to Latitude for the first time and were lucky enough to stay at our friends house in Suffolk.  We only go for one day so this post isn't going to focus on this particular festival (although I am super excited)!!!

No, this post is purely focussing on my festival outfits for Glastonbury!  My family were sooo lucky to get tickets for the festival on the second release (bear in mind we had like 7 computers and 3 phones trying to get them). But we're actually going and I couldn't be more excited!

Where have I gone?

Sooooo....some people may think I've just vanished off the face of the Earth, but I haven't, I'm still here!

My life has been SO hectic recently (hence why I haven't posted in what seems like forever), so this is just a quickie to say I am still here and I will be posting LOADS more now that I am on SUMMER!

So, here's a quick update of what I have been doing with my life!

Healthy Eating (well, trying!)

Eating healthy at university has to be honestly one of the hardest things (as some of you may know) due to the expense of healthy foods and just the motivation to do it is severely lacking.

Recently, I have been trying to eat a bit healthier as I have been getting that sluggish feeling due to eating a tonne of chocolate, biscuits and chips (too many late night post night out chicken nuggets as well)!

So, I set out to buy a nice bag of cripsy salad and some dressing and decided that now was the time to attempt the healthier lifestyle.  Luckily at my university (Nottingham Trent), we have a delightful fruit and veg man who sells all sorts for ridiculously cheap.  I decided to turn my dinners just that little bit healthier and have some nice lunches instead of settling for cheese on toast and I thought I would share with you what I've made.
Now, I'm not Nigella or Jamie but I think, considering I'm living on a student budget, I've done pretty well and they're so easy to do.
So if you're a suffering student like I am and you want to be just that little bit more healthy, have a go at making one of these!

It's Pamper Time!

So it's got to that time of the year where the season of stuffing your face and getting attacked by the cold weather is finally coming to a slow end (very slow, I seem to still be doing all those things).  Starting the new year means turning over a new leaf and one of my many new years resolutions was to be just that little bit kinder to myself - whether that means drinking more water, going to the gym or just making sure I'm getting enough rest.

Now I know we're already well into February but better late than never to start (I've also had the crazy back to uni weeks which has not been kind to me or my bank balance) and I thought why not treat myself to a few pamper nights.

There are a few nights in the week, believe it or not, where I find myself doing absolutely nothing and how better to spend these nights than having a little pamper sesh!
So I headed to my local Boots store and found some Montagne Jeunesse mud masks, and they were on offer - every bloggers dream!
After what felt like hours of trying to decide which to get, I settled for the Nut Oil Masque and the Very Berry mask which are both moisturising mud masks which I desperately needed as the cold wind had taken all sorts of moisture out of my skin.

Beauxoxo - The cutest hair accessories around!

A while ago I was watching a Zoella Youtube video and I saw that she was wearing a red sparkly bow in her hair.  I obviously loved it as I'm like a magpie when it comes to sparkly things!  Luckily she had linked where she had bought it from underneath the video so as I followed the link I realised I had to make some purchases.

The link took me to a website called Beauxoxo and after lots of searching and wishing to get almost everything on there, I came across the exact glitter bows that Zoella had been wearing.  Not even joking there are about a billion colours to choose from and if my bank balance hadn't of been shouting at me I would have bought one in each, but unfortunately I had to settle for two.

Valentines Day Make Up Look!

As Valentines Day is quickly approaching, I thought what better than to do a make up look just in time for it.  I personally am not a fan of Valentines Day, purely because I don't think a day should be put aside to tell someone you love them, that should be every day, but of course the day will come around nonetheless!

Beauty Review: Clinique Chubby Stick in Curvy Candy

For Christmas, my older sister got two Clinique Chubby Sticks by Clinique and literally two weeks later I was out buying one for myself.  I was thinking of just putting this in a Recents post but I felt it had to have its own review as I love it that much!

My Post-Shower/Pre-Bedtime Routine

Now I know a lot of blogs do their post-shower and pre-bedtime routines so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and do one myself!

The reason I have combined the two is because they're basically the same.  I never really have got into the habit of having certain routines until quite recently when I discovered certain products that worked so well for me.  So many people have millions of lotions and potions which they slap on their skin straight after a shower or before they jump between the sheets but personally I like to stick to only a few.

I personally don't think it is that healthy to clog up your skin with all sorts of creams that are meant to help with this and that and also, once you start using a product all the time, your skin becomes reliant on that product, so if you decide to stop using it, your skin will be like WHAT?!

So here is an insight into the few products that I do religiously use (but as I say in all my skin posts, these products work on my skin, they may not work on everyone's as they're dependant on your skin type)!
