FASHION: GLASTONBURY GOALS

Yes, I was one of the lucky ones that managed to bag myself a ticket to Glastonbury Festival 2016 (well, my Dad did - thanks pops)! Not to make anyone jealous, but it was an amazing weekend and now, three weeks on, I still have severe Glastonbury Blues!
Anyone that has been to Glastonbury before will understand when I say it is completely different to any other festival. It is the size of a small city, has everything you could ever want, from a meditation area to a gigantic mechanical spider to hundreds of amazing performances.
However, as well as all of this, the fashion amongst the 100,000 attendees is also incredible and so I got my blogger head on and snapped up some inspo. It was quite hard to go up to random people who had been drinking since sunrise and get a photo so I have included my looks from the weekend also.
My staples were denim shorts, a sexy waterproof jacket and my trusty black Hunter wellies.
Amongst the standard festival attire (glitter, gems, wellies and waterproof jackets), sparkle co-ords, David Bowie tribute tees and lycra onesies were amongst the favourite pieces chosen.

(Apologies as most of these were taken on my phone....)

FASHION: PATTERNS

Top: Zara / Trousers: Gu / Shoes: Bershka / Bag: Mulberry

I wore this outfit to an intership interview I had recently where I had to dress "smart but fashionable". The top and trousers are two purchases from my recent trip to the great city of Tokyo (highly recommend a visit - luckily I got to travel with my course)! The top is a last minute purchase from a very large Zara store that we found and the trousers are from a store called Gu which is a bit like a nicer H&M. When I was thinking about what I was going to wear to this interview, this match was not the first thing that came into my head. I thought how could those two patterns possibly look okay together but this just shows - always try on!
I love that these trousers are quite a subtle pattern and can be worn (clearly) with just about anything - they're also super comfy - and this top is smart yet not boring. I recently wore this top on a night out with a pair of black shorts - who doesn't love a day-to-night piece of clothing!
Of course, I have my trusty black heeled boots on which, when they are just a bit too scuffed, I am going to be so sad to see go!
I also wore seven rings (all silver), my Olivia Burton watch, my classic Mulberry bag and my black fur coat to keep me warm.

Fingers crossed the interview went well!

FASHION: STRIPES

Dress: Zara / Scarf: Zara / Shoes: Adidas / Bag: Mulberry

Who said you can't have bare legs in winter? I bought this dress from Zara so spontaneously. It was one of those moments where you're standing in the changing room for about half an hour just debating. I took the plunge and it was the best plunge I've taken. This dress is one of the comfiest pieces of clothing I own and it looks pretty good too! Although a bit chilly when worn in the mid winter, I still think it is perfect year round.
I normally wouldn't pair a midi dress with trainers but I think by wearing my Adidas Superstars it keeps with the casual look, but I have also paired it with heeled boots and heels before if I've wanted to dress it up. For a look around uni, this dress, shoes and scarf, paired with either a fur or simple coat is ideal for style and comfort.
I have also got my trusty Mulbs alongside me (this one is the Mulberry Effie Hobo - which I think they have discontinued in black) which you probably won't see me without. It was probably one of the best birthday present's I have received as my poor mum searched the country for a black one! (Sorry mum!) I'm pretty sure I hugged it - and my parents - for the rest of the day.

FASHION: THE LITTLE BURGUNDY DRESS

Dress: Topshop / Top: Topshop / Boots: Bershka

Now, if someone said to me "burgundy cord pinafore", I would have thought of my primary school uniform. That was up until Autumn/Winter 2015/2016!  Who would have thought that those three things would be back together once again and be roaming the streets. A pinafore, in my eyes, is a current staple for both summer and winter.

Here I have paired mine with a high roll neck top, black tights and black heeled boots. But come summer, I will be wearing this with white t shirts, bare legs and trainers!  This pinafore from Topshop is so beautiful as it's not your standard black or navy but it's still dark enough not to shout in people's faces - what more could you want for a day to night dress.

For the colder days, I would put a Zara camel coloured coat and big soft scarf with this outfit, to keep me that bit warmer as I walk to uni.

Festivals!

There is a major part of summer that everyone gets excited for - FESTIVALS!  Now I've been lucky enough to go to quite a few festivals in my 20 years of living including Reading and Latitude and this year is no different, I'm off to Glastonbury (ahhhhh) and Latitude again!

Last year we went to Latitude for the first time and were lucky enough to stay at our friends house in Suffolk.  We only go for one day so this post isn't going to focus on this particular festival (although I am super excited)!!!

No, this post is purely focussing on my festival outfits for Glastonbury!  My family were sooo lucky to get tickets for the festival on the second release (bear in mind we had like 7 computers and 3 phones trying to get them). But we're actually going and I couldn't be more excited!

Beauxoxo - The cutest hair accessories around!

A while ago I was watching a Zoella Youtube video and I saw that she was wearing a red sparkly bow in her hair.  I obviously loved it as I'm like a magpie when it comes to sparkly things!  Luckily she had linked where she had bought it from underneath the video so as I followed the link I realised I had to make some purchases.

The link took me to a website called Beauxoxo and after lots of searching and wishing to get almost everything on there, I came across the exact glitter bows that Zoella had been wearing.  Not even joking there are about a billion colours to choose from and if my bank balance hadn't of been shouting at me I would have bought one in each, but unfortunately I had to settle for two.

Recents

Well there's been a lot going on recently so sadly, my blog has had to take a back seat.  But I was looking through my Instagram and realised I had not done a Recents post in sooooo long!  So this one is going to be a mission to get through!

Again I've split my Recents into different sections just to make it easier for you all to see :) enjoy!

Recents

As some of you may know, being at university means that you spend a lot of time either working, eating or sleeping (probably more of the latter two) but that means that I have kind of neglected my blogging a bit.  As I'm getting nearer the end of term, deadlines are approaching and there will be a lot of going out, so I may be a bit M.I.A but I will try my hardest to keep up with my posts!

Anyway, that out of the way, even though I haven't been blogging a lot, I have been instagramming (http://instagram.com/katiecrossthwaite) quiiiite a bit so I thought what better way to get back into blogging than by doing another Recents post...so here you go!

Recents

So I thought that I had done a more recent Recents post...turns out I hadn't so sorry for the delay!

I have been such a busy bee at uni in the past couple of weeks and so I haven't really had much time to think about my blog as I've been trying to focus on my work and lectures....and sleep obviously.

So, here are some of my recent posts from my Instagram of what I've been wearing/loving recently!

Make up for a night out at Forum

Autumn/Winter 2013 Favourites - Clothes and Shoes

Beauty and Accessories for this season are now covered, why not treat you to my Autumn/Winter 2013 favourite clothes and shoes?

Now anyone that knows me, knows that I am OBSESSED with jumpers - I have about a billion - and I will wear them even if it is sunny.  So Autumn and Winter are my perfect seasons, purely because I have a valid reason to be wearing a jumper - it's cold!

A couple of the pieces that are included in this post I have blogged about before but that's exactly why they're in my Favourites post :)
As I said in my previous post, my favourite colours for Autumn and Winter are burgundy and navy and just dark colours in general, however, I think by adding just one bright item to your outfit - be it a jumper, scarf or lipstick - it really does complete it.

So, enough waffling, here are my Favourites for Autumn/Winter 2013 - Part 2!

Autumn/Winter 2013 Favourites - Beauty and Accessories

As we slowly approach the darker and colder mornings and the need to stay in bed just that little bit longer, I thought it was about time I did a Favourites post.
I always say that Autumn is my favourite time of the year because I love wrapping up in jumpers and scarves and having that snug feeling (however I am not a fan of waking up and it still being dark outside)!

As I can foresee this being a ridiculously long post, I am going to split it into Beauty and Accessories and then do another post focussing on clothes!

So here are some of my favourite beauty products and accessories for this time of the year, as well as what I think the main colour trends are going to be...enjoy!

Freshers Ball

So last night was the Nottingham Trent University Freshers Ball at the Students Union.  We all got dressed up smart, popped some bubbly and headed on over to a night filled with performances from Matt Edmonson and Wretch 32.

It was nice to finally get all dressed up and wear heels and a dress (even though my feet are taking a beating today), even if it was a bit of a drag having to get up for lectures at 9am this morning!

Here's what I wore!

London Fashion Week

So, here is my third and final instalment of my favourite pieces from some collections at London Fashion Week.
I am so determined to go next year - we have to hope!

Milan Fashion Week has now started but I won't be doing posts like I have for LFW but if I see any collections that I'm like "oh my gosh need to blog that NOW", I'll do a few :)

Here goes my second instalment of my favourite pieces from some collections at London Fashion Week and I am still not over the fact that I have not been able to go this year!

Also, as I am writing this, my older sister (who doesn't have a blog and is studying Law) is on her way to a LFW after party and drinks - HOW IS THIS FAIR?!

Anyway..here goes!

So, New York Fashion Week is all over and now it's time to bring it all home and kick start London Fashion Week!
I am so jealous of everyone who gets to go to it and one day I will be one of them...watch this space!
So here are a few of my favourite pieces from some collections.  As it has only just started, this won't be a long post but I'll keep them coming as the week progresses!
